Spanning 1937-1971, the Jacob Lawrence Papers consist of biographical material, correspondence, artwork reproductions, writings, printed material, and memorabilia of the African-American painter, printmaker, and artist.

Lescaze, William, 1896-1969.

Papers of the American international style architect. Correspondence, and architectural drawings, designs, and specifications related to Lescaze's clients, which included the Philadelphia Saving Fund Society and Columbia Broadcasting System. Also included are biographical materials, lectures, photographs, writings, and material related to Lescaze's one-time partner, George Howe.

American military officer, commander of Allied Air Forces Southern Europe (NATO). Collection includes correspondence (1941-1960); memoranda (1942-1960); photographs; financial material; minutes, reports, and other material pertaining to the Council on Foreign Relations (1954-1957) and the U.S. Air Force (1942-1960); articles; interviews; notebooks (1951-1959); and speeches (1946-1961). Correspondents incude Laurence S. Kuter, Thomas S. Power, George E. Stratemeyer, Hoyt Vandenberg, Albert C. Wedemeyer, and Thomas D. White.

Liveright, A. A. (Alexander Albert), 1907-1969

Alexander A. Liveright was a professor of adult education and director of the Center for the Study of Liberal Education for Adults (CSLEA) for more than ten years. Correspondence, minutes and reports which highlight Liveright’s professional interests and affiliations. Included are papers generated while professor in the schools of education at Boston University and Syracuse University, as director of The Center for the Study of Liberal Education for Adults, and as founding member and Secretary of the International Congress of University Adult Education. Sagamore Conference papers and those of the New Institutional Forms Project, a research project begun by Liveright to study the development of comprehensive adult education programs, also appear in the collection. International adult education is the focus of records from trips to Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Thailand. Miscellaneous material includes newspaper clippings, War Manpower Commission documents, and material from the Highlander Folk School.
