Glinsky, Vincent, 1895-1975

Spanning 1929 to 1964, the Vincent Glinsky Papers comprises correspondence, artwork reproductions, writings, and memorabilia of the Russian American sculptor and educator. While illuminating his professional career, the collection also reflects Glinsky's political activities in support of federal aid to the arts and in the interest of world peace.

Papers of the American executive. Abrams graduated from Syracuse University (Engineering) in 1912, shortly thereafter joined Standard Oil of New Jersey where he served as Director (1940) and Chairman of the Board (1946-1954). Collection comprises both personal and professional files relating to strategy, management, analysis and marketing for Warner Bros. movie and television development and includes proposals, books, pamphlets, laser discs, videocassettes and DVDs, and multimedia materials.

Bown, Lalage J.

Papers of the Oxford-educated professor of adult education. Bown spent much of her professional career in Africa, establishing adult education programs at various universities in Ghana, Uganda, and Nigeria. The collection includes organizational materials, correspondence, papers and printed material relating to adult education in Africa, Hong Kong, India and the West Indies. Francisco, Don, 1891-1973.

Don Francisco was advertising manager for the California Fruit Growers Exchange, worked with the Los Angeles advertising agency Lord & Thomas, and from 1945-1956 with the J. Walter Thompson Agency in New York. From 1940-1945, he worked with the radio division of the Office of Inter-American Affairs in the U.S. State Department. Collection includes correspondence; material on the Office of Inter-American Affairs and advertising agencies; articles, reports, speeches, promotional materials, photographs, and scrapbooks.

Hansl, Eva vB. (Eva vom Baur).

Extensive collection of materials relating to the education, employment, marital status, and intellectual life of women in society. Material encompasses women in the U.S. as well as in other countries. Topics include education, careers, roles and attitudes, family issues (marriage, divorce, children, home management), well-known women, working women, and many other subjects. Collected by Eva vom Baur Hansl, American author, journalist, radio producer, and lecturer.

Hansl, Eva vB. (Eva vom Baur).

Papers of the American author, journalist, radio producer, and lecturer (1899-1978). Collection includes biographical material, correspondence, radio broadcasts files, speeches, and writings. Bulk relates to the radio programs for which Hansl was program supervisor (1939-1940): Women in the making of America, broadcast in cooperation with the WPA's Federal Theatre Radio Division, and Gallant American women, with the support of the U.S. Office of Education. Hansl later produced Womanpower (1943-1944), in cooperation with the War Manpower Commission.
